All Girl’s Festival

Forty-six girls attended the National All Girls’ Festival in Paarl. This was the 20th All Girls Festival and there were schools from all over the country. The two girls who did Art enjoyed creating sculptures and attending a workshop. The Drama group attended workshops and then worked on a short movement piece which held their audience spellbound. Several girls achieved certificates for their work. The Debating team gained valuable experience and won three out of their four debates. The two Public Speakers also gained learned a lot and enjoyed the whole experience. The two girls who did Boland Cuisine were thoroughly spoilt and not only watched two top chefs at work but did several tours through the Boland which included chocolate tasting. The three girls who did Master Minds attended several visits to local attractions and then did quizzes on what they had learnt. The Danville team won the quiz on the Paarl museum. Three sporting codes also went, the tennis group played against the top schools in South Africa and enjoyed the challenge. The hockey team did very well and were finally placed better than last year. The netball team also did well and played against some very tough opposition.

Well done girls you flew the Danville flag high and were wonderful ambassadors for your school.

Thank you to the Mrs Scholtz and the teachers who accompanied the group. Mrs Hardman, Mrs Kelly, Mrs Limbada, Ms Moolla, Ms Newberry, Mrs Padaychee, Mr Price, Mrs Schoeman and Ms Shange. Special thanks to Ms Newberry who organised the Festival for Danville.
